We all know midterms can be a trying time in the semester. But these 14 tips for surviving Midterms week will keep you from living through a frenzy. Passing your exams doesn’t have to be such an agonizing occasion. First and foremost, it is best to be pro-active and intentional with your study habits. Cramming at the last minute will surely sink your ship. On the other hand, planning ahead by setting a schedule in advance to review is a key strategy to success. Even reviewing your notes periodically throughout the semester keeps them fresh and at the forefront.  Next, it is wise to choose a study environment that is least distractive. Meditating before each study session calms the mind and works wonders. Then, it is always good to find out in advance what is going to be on the exam. Knowing what to focus on narrows the field.  Additionally, this enables you to test yourself and helps the information stick. Highlighting specific information and creating index cards also helps your memory. And, memorizing is a habit of significant importance.  I can’t stress it enough...memorize, memorize, memorize! Next, if part of your exams requires you to write an essay, practice some pre-writing and write a summary on the topic at hand.  Scheduling a study session with some classmates or a tutoring session ahead of time creates a sense of collaboration while making studying fun and helping you remember more easily.  Another crucial tip is to be sure to get enough sleep the night before. Being tired will only increase your lack of attention to detail.  And, finally eat a sufficient breakfast the morning of the exam. For most students are widely known to do poorly on exams on an empty stomach. And finally, plan to reward yourself on a job well done as an incentive to do well. This will motivate you to try even harder. Once again, preparation is an essential element for success. If you follow these tips, you will surely succeed without a hint of hysteria.
