The super bowl is a popular yearly event that is celebrated by millions for the game, food, halftime show, and commercials. The super bowl is always held on a Sunday, but the exact date varies. Typically, it is held in the month of February. This year will be the 56th super bowl and will be held on Sunday, February 2022. Now, what exactly is the super bowl?

Throughout the football season, 32 different football teams play against each other. 14 of the highest-scoring teams go to the playoffs and the two remaining teams will face each other in the most-watched sporting event in the United States: the super bowl. Although this day is not an officially celebrated holiday, it is widely considered an unofficial holiday. Now that you know a little of what the super bowl is, you will need to know how to celebrate it.

Obviously, millions of people watch the super bowl to see the teams play against each other and root for their preferred team. Fans will show their support for their team by wearing their jerseys, sports attire, or even painting their faces the same color as their team. Along with the game, people enjoy the halftime show and commercials. The halftime show always includes well-known singers and bands performing during the break. Commercials that are aired throughout the game vary on content but have become a popular reason for people to watch the game. There are so many viewers of the super bowl that it costs around $6 million for a 30-second commercial!

For those who are not interested in sports, there is another huge reason to attend a super bowl party: delicious food. Super bowl parties are notorious for having a feast of food. The most well-known foods to see are pizza, burgers, chicken wings, nachos, chips, and different types of dips. If you don’t care to watch the game, you can always go just to eat the food.

Lastly, the best reason to watch the super bowl is to have fun with your friends and family. It’s always a good time to hang out and eat some of your favorite foods with some of your favorite people.
