  The holiday season is quickly approaching! The holiday season is full of family, friends, and gift-giving, and though this year may be different than what everyone has expected, we believe that it can still be a great holiday season! Here is how our students from around the globe celebrate the holiday season! One way to continue the holiday season cheer is to get together with family. Many students are abroad and not able to visit their families right now due to safety concerns. Luckily, we have technology. For students who are not able to be with their families due to the distance, they will call their loved ones on the phone or video chat. Some students said that they have a virtual holiday where they will video call their loved ones and have an online party.   One of our students says that they don't give gifts on Christmas, and they only get together with their immediate family. After the Thanksgiving holiday, the next holiday is Christmas. Christmas is a huge holiday that is full of family, friends, and of course, gifts. Everyone celebrates Christmas a little differently, but there are a few traditions that most families in the United States all share. Just like Thanksgiving, families usually get together and enjoy a feast. However, the main course of the Christmas dinner varies by family. Some families will have turkey or ham, some families eat tamales, some families eat roast beef, and some families may even eat a combination of all of these dishes!   Homographs can sometimes be tricky when learning English. Homographs are words that are spelled the same but have different meanings. The words may also be pronounced differently. Homographs are part of the types of words that you will learn in American English Language School’s ESL Program . For now, read on to see some common examples of homographs in the English language. Bare and Bare The word bare can be used as an adjective to describe something that is not clothed, or bare can describe something that is basic and plain.  Examples: It is not good to walk around outside in your bare feet.   We are so excited for Thanksgiving this week! Thanksgiving is the holiday where families get together to enjoy a delicious feast and appreciate all the blessings they have in their lives. There are games to play, parades to watch, and plenty to be thankful for. Before eating dinner, it is traditional for everyone at the table to say what they are most thankful for over the past year.
